Teeth Whitening

Many people are self-conscious about their smiles because they aren’t as white as they could be.

The good news is that you don’t have to live with it. Teeth whitening is one of the safest and most affordable cosmetic dental treatments around. Call Kittrell Family Dentistry, and we can make your smile many shades whiter in just one visit.

We use the Zoom whitening system to brighten your teeth safely and effectively.

With Zoom, you get vivid results that you can see immediately after the procedure. When you add follow-up treatment with the Zoom take-home bleaching system, you will find that your teeth are whiter than you ever thought possible.

Why live with stained or yellowed teeth when you don’t have to? Call us today to find out how the Zoom whitening system can make your smile dramatically whiter!

How Does Zoom Whitening Work?

The Zoom whitening treatment consists of a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel, which works to break apart the stains on the teeth. Oxygen floods the enamel and dentin of the teeth, which serves to get rid of stains that have been building up for many years.

Imagine your teeth as many as 10 shades whiter after just one treatment!

How Long Will the Zoom Whitening Procedure Take?

You can expect to be at your whitening appointment for about one hour. We will prepare you for treatment first; the bleaching process itself takes about 45 minutes.

During your procedure, you can sit back and relax, watching television or listening to music. There is no pain associated with teeth whitening, and most people find that the procedure is not uncomfortable. If you have dental anxiety or a strong gag reflex, however, you might find the procedure a bit more of a challenge. Don’t hesitate to talk to us before your appointment if you have any concerns.

Keep in mind that the Zoom whitening procedure does not do anything to clean your teeth, so we recommend patients have their teeth cleaned prior to treatment.

Is Zoom Whitening Safe?

Many people question the safety of teeth whitening; others have heard that the treatment can cause sensitivity and gum irritation.

Although it is accurate that over-the-counter teeth whitening kits can cause irritation and sensitivity—particularly if they are used improperly—having your teeth whitened by a dental professional is safe and sensitivity free.

How Long Do the Results Last?

If you follow up your Zoom whitening treatment with diligent at-home care with your whitening trays, you can expect results to last a good amount of time. Keep in mind, though, that if you revert back to habits that stained your teeth in the first place, stains can recur.

Dr. John S. Kittrell will give you thorough instructions to follow at home so you can enjoy Zoom whitening results for many years to come. Be sure to come in twice a year for a cleaning and examination!
